Obamacare Enrollment Assistance for 2025

Did you already apply for 2025 coverage?

Since 2022, enrollment throughout the year is allowed for people with income up to 150% of the federal poverty level (FPL), that means they have the option to enroll in health insurance under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) year-round, provided they live in states that adopted this flexibility for special enrollment periods. This allows individuals and families with limited incomes to access coverage without waiting for the annual open enrollment period.

For reference, in 2022, 150% of the FPL was approximately:

  • $19,320 per year for an individual.
  • $32,940 per year for a family of 3.

However, FPL amounts and policies can change annually. For the most current information, it’s recommended to check with the Health Insurance Marketplace or y calling Insurance Pro at 407.847.7000.

Open Enrollment for 2025 runs from Monday, November 1, 2024

Insurance agents and brokers like Insurance Pro can help you by handling the whole enrollment process, and inform you whether you qualify for any savings.

Can you change your plan after you’re enrolled?

If you’ve enrolled in a plan for 2025 and want to change it, you can do so any time before January 15, 2025. Your new plan will take effect February 1, 2025.

Open Enrollment Notices

Each year, the Marketplace sends notices to consumers who are currently enrolled in a Marketplace plan prior to November 1 about the upcoming Open Enrollment Period. This notice provides consumers with key dates for Open Enrollment and emphasizes the importance of consumers returning during this time to update their application and actively re-enroll in a plan for 2022. The notice also provides certain consumers with customized messaging for specific situations, such as if they’re at risk of losing premium tax credits. Consumers receive additional notices from their current insurance company with important information about premiums, coverage and benefit changes, and plan availability for 2025.

How to change plans for the rest of 2024

You can change your health plan for the rest of 2024 only if you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period due to a certain life event — like losing health coverage, getting married, or having a baby.
