Insurance Pro’s expert agents will help you to receive the highest subsidy to guarantee the best price and benefits on the market.
ACA Special Enrollment Period Extended Through August 15
The comprehensive health care reform law enacted in March 2010 (sometimes known as ACA, PPACA, or “Obamacare”).
The ACA law has 3 primary goals:
- Make affordable health insurance available to more people. The law provides consumers with subsidies (“premium tax credits”) that lower costs for households with incomes between 100% and 400% of the federal poverty level (FPL). Note: If your income is above 400% FPL, you may still qualify for the premium tax credit in 2021.
- Expand the Medicaid program to cover all adults with income below 138% of the FPL. (Not all states have expanded their Medicaid programs.)
- Support innovative medical care delivery methods designed to lower the costs of health care generally.
Additional Rights and Benefits:
- Breastfeeding equipment and support
- Birth control methods and counseling
- Mental health and substance abuse services
- The right to appeal a health plan decision
- The right to choose an individual plan rather than the one your employer offers you
2026 Obamacare Plans in Florida — What You Need to Know
The Affordable Care Act Marketplace continues to offer Floridians access to comprehensive health insurance options, and 2026 plans include some important updates worth knowing before you enroll.
- Enhanced subsidies remain in effect under current federal policy, meaning many Florida residents qualify for $0 or low-cost monthly premiums.
- Plan metal tiers — Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum — are still available, with Silver plans offering the best balance of premium and cost-sharing for most families.
- Special Enrollment Periods (SEPs) are available year-round if you experience a qualifying life event such as losing a job, getting married, having a baby, or moving to a new state.
- Open Enrollment for 2026 Marketplace plans runs November 1 – January 15. If you miss this window, you’ll need a qualifying event to enroll.
Florida does not have a state-run Marketplace, all plans are available through HealthCare.gov. Insurance Pro Florida’s licensed agents can walk you through every option available in your county, compare costs, and help you enroll at absolutely no cost to you. If you’re turning 65 soon, you may also want to explore your Medicare plans in Florida before your ACA plan expires. And don’t overlook adding a standalone dental insurance plan — ACA plans rarely include full adult dental coverage.

Do I Qualify for Obamacare Subsidies in Florida? (2026 Income Guide)
Your eligibility for premium tax credits (subsidies) is based on your household income relative to the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). Here is a general guide for 2026:
|
Household Size |
100% FPL |
Subsidy-Eligible Range (up to 400% FPL) |
|
1 person |
~$15,060/yr |
Up to ~$60,240/yr |
|
2 people |
~$20,440/yr |
Up to ~$81,760/yr |
|

~$25,820/yr |
Up to ~$103,280/yr |
|
4 people |
~$31,200/yr |
Up to ~$124,800/yr |
Note: Income figures are approximate and based on 2025–2026 federal poverty guidelines. Actual subsidy amounts vary. Enhanced credits may reduce premiums further for households below 150% FPL.
Even if your income is above 400% FPL, you may still qualify for some premium relief under current law. The best way to know exactly what you qualify for is to speak with a certified enrollment agent. Learn more about our full range of health insurance options in Florida.
